We would like to provide an update as an association of several matters relating to Schools Football for our district.
Our Primary leagues are ran in conjunction with Stockton Schools Sports Partnerships. It is safe to say that no football leagues will take place until the Summer Term at the earliest and may not take place at all. They may be replaced with football skills challenges that schools can participate in but this is yet to be decided.
We run our own independent Secondary School leagues. The leagues are played over the course of the academic year, with schools travelling to each other to compete in fixtures. At this moment in time that would be extremely problematic and is likely to be for the foreseeable future. We may be able to hold some mini tournaments in the summer term, but as with the primary leagues, nothing may be able to take place at all.
Due to current restrictions, no representative football, including training and matches will take place until December 2nd at the earliest. There is a desire for some representative football to be played towards the beginning of next year but the possibility of that will not become apparent until closer to that time period. We are in a fortunate position that we would be ready to compete in fixtures etc at short notice, due to our trails having already taken place and obviously all school settings would have to be in agreement that their students could participate.
This is a difficult time for all, however the health and safety of all school children, staff and volunteers within Stockton District is our main priority, as always.
If any of the above changes, then you will be notified as soon as we are confident of our next steps.
